THE PHOTOGRAPHER..
Lee has lived in Lancaster all his life, he is married and has two small children, Molly 8 and Ben 5.
APPROACH TO PHOTOGRAPHY
His photography has been a long passion of his, his knowledge of photography is completley self taught, he hasn't had any form of formal photographic training.
Lee favours the rich colours of dawn and dusk when the light is at its most special. He uses eqiupment to enable him to capture magical moments authentically at the picture taking stage and not relying on the computer for enhancements afterwards.
Landscape photography is not really about photographing the land more about photographing how the light falls on it.
Lee,s aim is to keep learning and develop is photography skills to improve the quality of his work.
He says that photography is a mix of technical and the creative, you can have all the latest and best equipment but at the end of the day its the person behind the camera that determines the final result.
Lee spends time looking for new locations, usually starting with maps and guide books to find new view points and most images are pre visualised before the camera even comes out of the bag, this usually means visiting locations when the light is least favourable prior to the shoot being done, he then waits for the conditions and light he wants for that particular image.
Once on location and the camera is on the tripod set up with filters, cable release, he then waits for the light just to be right. There is no snapping here, its just simply waiting for the light.
He also has many fruitless trips when conditions haven,t gone his way, which is really frustrating he says, he says the Lake District is the worst it really is a exercise in patience.
THE FUTURE
Lee photography has grown from a hobby into a ever expanding business, he is semi professional at the moment but hoping one day to do it full time.
He still works though at the moment running his plastering and tiling business mid week.
Lee is also available to do commissions, please email or ring for more details
